Christina Ricci talks about some of the not-so-glamorous moments during her long career in Hollywood.
Ricci, 43, talked about her time as a child star and how things have now changed for younger actors during an appearance on “The View” on Wednesday.
Co-host Sara Haines asked the “Yellowjackets” star, “How different do you think this cast, these younger versions, are compared to when you were at that stage?”
“It’s really amazing. Us older ladies talk about it all the time. It’s amazing to see that they don’t necessarily have to go through the same things we do. They can say, ‘I don’t want to do this sex scene’, ‘I don’t get naked,’” Ricci said.
She continued, “They can set boundaries for themselves that we were never allowed to do. Someone once threatened to sue me because I didn’t want to do this sex scene in a certain way. It has really changed and it’s great to see.”
Ricci had previously mentioned the lawsuit last June in an Actors on Actors conversation with Sydney Sweeney for Variety.
“I remember once in a movie saying I wasn’t comfortable with something and they threatened to sue me if I didn’t do it. That would never happen now,” Ricci said in the conversation.
Sweeney, 25, replied: “What? Oh my god I’m so sorry.
“It was fine. I didn’t do it anyway. And they didn’t charge me,” Ricci shared.
Ricci made her screen debut when she was just nine years old and first made a name for herself starring as Wednesday Addams in ‘The Addams Family’. She continued to star as a young actress in projects such as ‘Casper’, ‘Now and Then’ and ‘Gold Diggers: The Secret of Bear Mountain’.
Currently, Ricci is playing the older version of Misty, one of the plane crash survivors in ‘Yellowjackets’ while Sammi Hanratty is playing the teen role of the character.
Season 2 of “Yellowjackets” premieres March 24 on Showtime.
